Steps in Planning a successful
Kitchen & Bath Projects
STEP 1: Accurate Room
Dimensions
To accomplish this step you may have an Architect
draw your kitchen / bath space. In
this case you have the drawings you need for STEP 2.
You can follow this simple procedure to make the
drawing(s) yourself.
| |
+ |
Obtain
several pieces of graph paper. |
|
| |
+ |
Use a
25ft measuring tape to obtain the wall dimensions and mark these numbers on the graph paper. See
Illustration (1). |
|
| |
+ |
Next
measure the height, width and placement (distance from the corner of the room to the window casement) of each window in the room. This is very
important, so double check your numbers. |
|
| |
+ |
Do the
same for each door in the room. |
|
| |
+ |
Finally,
measure and mark the placement of electrical outlet and heating vents on your drawing. |
|

STEP 3:
Design Review
After your Design and Budget are complete, you
will be contacted for a design review meeting. The purpose of the
follow up meeting is to:
|
+ |
Discuss in detail the Design and Budget so
that you understand and know completely the
results or your project. |
|
| |
+ |
Discuss any changes and / or new ideas for
your
cabinet design. |
|
| |
+ |
Finalize your Drawings and Budget ... a
final
set
of drawings and Budget will be forwarded to you. |
|
STEP 4:
Finalize Agreement
Once your are sure that the design is just the way
you want it and plan is within your budget, it time to "Lock-in" the
specs and dollar amount. This step is completed by initiating
and agreement with Miami Woodworking and initiating payment for the
production deposit. Remember, your original $150 deposit amount is
also credited to the order.
To complete your plan, the following are
also needed:
| |
+ |
Appliance and /or
electronic specifications and dimensions must be resolved. |
|
| |
+ |
A Miami Woodworking Service Coordinator
must be
scheduled (at your convenience) to take the final measurements at
your location. It should be noted that in some instances, the
initial measurements may have been slightly off and the
drawings must be revised with the new measurements. If this occurs
and these revised measurements result in a cost revision, a change
order will be forwarded for your approval. |
